The dream of a dedicated arts space in Maghera is one I’ve had for a really long time but I first started thinking seriously about it in the last couple of years. As an arts facilitator working in the Mid Ulster area for over 10 years now I know first hand how difficult it can be to find a space that is just right.

With this in mind I went about trying to create what I felt I had been looking for, a space that was a blank canvas…and so here I am! I really hope that The Studio will have something for everyone. I’ve been overwhelmed by well wishes and by the number of local people, artists and service providers who have been in touch wanting to get involved in the journey or simply find a place (that isn’t the end of their own kitchen table!!) to create.

So if you are reading this thinking that you would like to know more, or you’re thinking about taking a leap into whatever it is that you do best, then please get in touch. I’d absolutely love to hear from you.

My dad gives great advice and he has often said to me “alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”…so I’m hoping now that I’ve done my little bit we can all get together and do so much more.
